Life has blessed me with quite an adventurous journey. I have always been interested in the medical field. While my husband, children, and I lived in Alaska for quite a few years I owned and operated a medical transcription business. Two of my daughters worked with me as we typed for a variety of medical modalities. When we moved back to Louisiana, one of my daughters bought out the business in Alaska. While in Alaska I also certified as a medical assistant.
In 1998 in Louisiana I attended my first class with the International Institute of Reflexology (www.reflexology-usa.net). Continuing my studies and practice in that field I was excited to see the results, and then certified in Reflexology.
The next step was training and licensing in Massage Therapy. Most of the sessions I do combine the Reflexology and various types of Massage Therapy, depending on the individual need. I enjoy learning new modalities and add them as I can. My sessions can include the Reflexology, lymphatic drainage, deep tissue/neuromuscular therapy, hot stone, AIS Range of Motion, and body energy work - specializing in Acu-Kinesiology, Reiki, and Reconnective Healing. Some request a Swedish massage - light and relaxing, others prefer or need deeper work to specific areas.
Disclaimer: Since I am not a doctor, I cannot diagnose, prescribe or treat for a specific condition. What I can do is help the body to relax and help itself toward homeostasis - a more balanced functioning.
